Fun for all at Cook County Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club Fun Run

By all accounts the Cook County Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club Fun Run was lots of fun! About 160 riders took part in the sixth annul fundraiser held Saturday, February 7.

Terri Dunkel won $500 for collecting the high hand in the Ridge Riders’ poker run. Some people took their vehicles while most traveled by snowmobile trails to six stops, where cards were handed out. The stops included Gunflint Lodge, Gunflint Pines, Windigo Lodge, Trail Center, Hungry Jack Lodge and Devil Track Landing. Terris winning hand was 3-10-10-10-10.

Devin Smith was happy to collect $200 for the low poker hand of the day. Devins scrubby hand was A-2-3-4-8.

Money gained from the fundraiser helps the Cook County Ridge Riders pay for the maintenance of the trails and supports a $250 scholarship given to a Cook County graduating senior. We also pay for the signs along the trails and purchase cones and helmets for the snowmobile safety classes offered to kids, Everson said.
